Grace is constantly being spoken about in the bible but do we really have a good understanding of what it truly means? In the Bible, grace seems to be one of the most important concepts, as so to say, to Christians and even the entire world!

Grace, and more importantly, the grace of God, is often talked about in the bible and in the promises that Christ has made to us. There is grace in the love that God shows to the unlovable, there is grace in the peace He grants the restless and there is grace in the undeserving love and forgiveness that we are granted by the Lord.

The bible tells us in the book of Ephesians 4:7  that, “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” But do we all understand what this verse plays in our lives?

What we need to understand is that we need grace that most when we find ourselves in sin, trials and when we are broken. In the kind of world we are currently living in, we need grace from all the judgment that we face on a daily basis. It is grace that makes us feel alive.

Grace is all about getting what we do not deserve and not getting what we actually do. In Christianity, we are taught that what we deserve for our sinfulness is actually death but through grace, God grants us the opportunity to share a wonderful life after this amongst Him. Isn’t that beautiful?

But the bigger truth is that grace isn’t really just about us- it is about God and His undying, unconditional love for us. He loves us so much that He sent down His one and only begotten son to die for us on the cross for our sins. He gave us His son, Himself and that is really what grace is. God is grace.

As Christians, we should live and are able to live by the grace of God. This grace transforms us and our worldly desires, the things that motivate us and even the way we think and act and therefore, if it is given to us freely and easily by Christ, being gracious is also something that we ourselves should practice among others.

So let us ask ourselves now, are we living in and by grace?

Wilson Alvarez, a lover of Jesus Christ had an early experience where he had a vision of the Risen Lord & instantaneously became a believer at the prime age of 3. Through out his young life, he always felt protection and blessings and even though was not walking with the Lord, always acknowledged his blessings. It was when he turned 30, that he became a follower and prayed based on John 3:3 – “In order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.” Mr. Alvarez enjoys Men’s ministries and is active in the prison ministry movement where he gives weekly leadership and christian talks.
