Proverbs 18:22 states, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”

Do you remember your wedding day? Most of us do! As a couple, you work hard to create a memorable day built around love and the Lord. Chances are you spent months or even years planning this spectacular event. You end up with beautiful memories and pictures to mark the occasion. But then something happens: you have to actually begin your marriage.

A wedding and a marriage are two separate things. The beautiful wedding marks the beginning of the marriage, but the marriage itself is a long-term process with many ups and downs. Anyone who has been married will tell you there are good days and bad days. It takes a lot of work and effort from both parties to make a marriage work and remain long-lasting.

Sometimes, when couples have difficulties in their marriage, they try to fix them on their own. Some couples compromise while others battle until someone finally gives in, without ever really solving the issue. Never resolving issues can cause additional stress, as the same behavior continues throughout the marriage. This often means one person gives in while the other gets their way, instead of coming to a compromise.

If you are having trouble in your marriage, there is one source you can always turn to for help: the Lord. Reading the Bible and learning what it says about marriage is an excellent first step. If you can’t solve your issues through scripture, the next step should be to receive counseling at the church.

Christian couples usually create their wedding around the Lord but sometimes forget to invite the Lord into their marriage. It’s essential for a healthy marriage to have the Lord involved.

If you have been so consumed with issues in your marriage that you forgot to read the Bible or seek help through the church, it’s not too late. You can make a change today and begin the journey of repairing your marriage.

Some churches have other couples who are members of the congregation that can be an excellent resource for repairing your marriage. Most couples have been through difficult times in their relationship but found a way to get through their issues with the help of the Lord. Don’t be shy; reach out for help from the Lord today!

Wilson Alvarez, a lover of Jesus Christ had an early experience where he had a vision of the Risen Lord & instantaneously became a believer at the prime age of 3. Throughout his young life, he always felt protection and blessings and even though was not walking with the Lord, always acknowledged his blessings. It was when he turned 30, that he became a follower and prayed based on John 3:3 – “In order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.” Mr. Alvarez enjoys Men’s ministries and is active in the prison ministry movement where he gives weekly leadership and christian talks.
