Proverbs 3:6 – “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Is life taking you to where you want to go? If you think about it deeply for a moment, are you heading in the direction you have always dreamed of? Or, did you get detoured in another direction? It is wise to have a vision of what you want your life to be then take small steps that will guide you on the path to reaching your goal. Thinking long term is essential to creating the life you want.

Where are you headed?

Do you know where your current path is leading you? Are you headed towards a fulfilling life? Or, are you headed into danger? If you are headed into danger or a direction you don’t want to be, you can change it. Always remember you can change direction. It’s up to you to choose a wise path or a different kind of path. Every decision you make is crucial for your path.

Choose wisely

If you are looking to change direction and get on a wiser path than you are currently on, you need to choose wisely. The following steps will help guide you to creating a new path.

  • Put the Lord first – The first thing you want to do is put the Lord first in your life. Read your Bible, attend church services and become a valuable member of your congregation.
  • Create a vision – Take some quiet time for yourself to reflect and think deeply about what you want in your life. How do you see yourself living? Where? What career? Are you married? Do you have children? Sometimes creating a vision board is helpful so you can see your future in pictures. A vision board is a collection of pictures that reflect what you want in your life. You gather them in one place, either on a poster board or on your computer. It’s a reminder of what you truly desire to achieve in life.
  • Take action – Create small steps that will lead to your goal. Do you plan to own a house one day? Prepare ahead of time by preparing what you need to qualify to purchase a home. Then take steps towards achieving it.

Life moves quickly, make sure you take advantage of every moment you have. Remember to always keep the Lord first in your life as you enjoy your journey.

Wilson Alvarez, a lover of Jesus Christ had an early experience where he had a vision of the Risen Lord & instantaneously became a believer at the prime age of 3. Throughout his young life, he always felt protection and blessings and even though was not walking with the Lord, always acknowledged his blessings. It was when he turned 30, that he became a follower and prayed based on John 3:3 – “In order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.” Mr. Alvarez enjoys Men’s ministries and is active in the prison ministry movement where he gives weekly leadership and christian talks.
