Are you bored? Do your kids tell you all the time that they are bored and need more entertainment, video games, and more? This is a sign that you and your family need a change. I don’t mean spend more money going to do more activities and restaurants. But, I do mean doing something refreshing, uplifting and encouraging. Did you know there is an open invitation to a beautiful house that that fills you with peace, happiness and relaxation. It also comforts you when you are confronting difficult things in your life.
Are you wondering where this magical place is that you can visit for free any day of the week is located? Well, it’s located in every community. It’s usually the most beautiful building in the area. It’s called church. And the person inviting you is God. How special is that, right? It’s incredible to know you always have an open invitation to God’s house!
Let’s say you used to attend church a long time ago. Or, perhaps you never went to church at all. Maybe you became too busy and life became too hectic. The good news is, you are always welcome back anytime you are ready!
Most people come up with tons of excuses on why they should decline the invitation. One main reason is due to young children or teenagers not wanting to attend with you. It’s important to bring the kids and make it a family activity. If you have young children, most worship centers offer daycare. If you have teenagers they will be able to join the youth group and spend time with teens their age.
Always understand that when it comes to teenagers trying something new like attending church, it might be a difficult start. But, be persistent and eventually most teenagers begin to fit in with their peers in the youth group and enjoy going to church. After a while the verbal exchange between you and your children will go from “I don’t want to go” to “When do we get to church again?” or “I’m ready for church, let’s go.”
There is a story of a man that had 6 children of all different ages. Their lives were quite difficult and they were struggling a lot in all different areas of their lives. One Sunday the man told the kids, get dressed and get in the car. He was going to take them somewhere special. They all got excited! Then he drove them directly to the church told them to sit down, and their lives changed forever, in a good way.
Don’t be afraid to accept God’s invitation to his house. Always know you can accept his invitation anytime and don’t forget to bring the kids!
