Mathew 26:28 – “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
Sinning weights heavy on every Christian. Most of us, like me, became Christians later in life, while others were born into it and embraced it throughout their entire lifetime.
As a Christian, we do our best avoid sinning. The rules for us to follow are right there in The Bible. But, in our past and sometimes when we drift away from the LORD we tend to sin. Even the smallest sin can weigh heavy on our souls, hearts, and minds. It is when we come back to the LORD we seek forgiveness for our sins.
If you were to sit down with a notebook and a pen, how many past sins can you list? It’s kind of scary when you think about it, right? As Christians, we know our sins are forgiven. As it states in Mathew 26:28 listed above, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
This means Jesus gave his blood for us to be forgiven. How amazing is that? Basically, we can all say a blood donor saved our lives. This phrase has taken the Christian community by storm. Its meaningful reminder has been printed on T-shirts, pins, bumper stickers and more.
Are you in a place in your life where you are seeking forgiveness for your own sins? Many non-believers who are experiencing a difficult time in life often seek faith and ultimately walk into the house of the LORD.
There is a story of a man who had committed many sins in his lifetime. One day he woke up and was told he was injured in a car accident and wasn’t expected to live much longer. Perhaps, a few months at the most. The family of the man was surprised to hear him praying and asking for forgiveness out loud. People in the hospital began to wonder if the man was crazy. Eventually, he passed away. When his belongings were given to his family members they opened his wallet to find several Christian prayer cards that you receive at Church or the Church gift shop or Christian stores. It turned out that the man had turned his life around and found the LORD many years before his accident. His family didn’t know it because he kept it to himself and it was his own personal relationship with GOD.
Always remember, whether you are already a Christian or you are a non-believer there is always a blood donor waiting for you to accept his offer. You can find it in the house of the LORD when you are ready.
